Wine Tasting and Wine Dinner with John and Brigid Forrest of Forrest Wines

Dr John and Brigid Forrest are Forrest Wines. With 22 years of winegrowing experience, and a very hands-on approach to growing, making and marketing their wines, the Drs are unique, owning vineyards in Marlborough, Otago and Gimblett Gravels, Hawkes Bay – New Zealand’s premier Terrior! John brings scientific discipline to the winemaking, innate creative flare and an exuberant personality – blending art and science to make wines of the highest quality, purity and international renown.

Pulled Roasted Chicken – Accompanied with Pommery Red Grape Dressing
Poached Shrimp – Rested on a bed of avocado puree on toast
Mini Potato Gratin – Garnished with micro herbs & served on spoons
Japanese Tofu Salad – Served on a spoon with light soy dressing and micro herbs
Onion Marmalade & Sundried Tomato on Toast – Home-made marmalade mixed with sundried tomato, rested on oiled toast

Mussels Poached in White Wine – A classic dish of mussels poached with white wine & tarragon. Served with dry bread.

Home Cured Beet Root Salmon – House-cured salmon with beetroot & parsley, avocado puree, chive crème fraîche & salad.

Pan Seared Quail – Seared and served with pomegranate jus & knob of greens.

Braised Short Rib – Served with pomme puree & seasoned golden enoki

Accidental Epicurean Event at Epicurious

Our 10th August wine tasting at Epicurious was a wonderful night out. We selected 8 wines – Whitehaven Pinot Gris 2008, Bushmere Estate Chardonnay 2006, Whitehaven Sauvignon Blanc 2008, Mt Rosa Riesling 2006, Gladstone Rose 2008, Mt Rosa Pinot Noir 2007, Lime Rock Pinot Noir 2006 and Unison Classic Blend 2007 and guests could choose the 6 they wanted to taste. Helena at Epicurious matched Asian Fusion nibbles beautifully with each wine. A great mix of people, so a fun night and a big thank you to all of our friends and customers that came and supported us. We look forward to doing more events soon.


Tastings, Tastings, Tastings…

We’ve been trying to get as many people as we possibly can tasting our wines. Some of the events we’ve been involved in recently have included serving our wines at a Fashion Show, a couple of Art Gallery Exhibition openings, an Open House and numerous tasting parties in workplaces and homes. Not to mention all the other parties and restaurants/ bars that are now serving our wines. And as suspected, once someone’s tried them they can’t resist drinking more.
